JJ – An unusual award winning published photographer
We photographers write with light… (from the Greek words photós, meaning “light” and gráphein, “to write”)
JJ has been taking pictures (or making images, as some may prefer) for more than 30 years, all over our planet.
Curiously enough, it was with his discovery of the underwater world in the early 21st century that the need for a more formal and structured education in the field presented itself.
Learning from the best, JJ soon started to branch out into other realms. But his busy corporate life kept this passion as a “mere hobby” for several years.
It was only after his moving to Australia in 2011 that he finally decided to heed to the advice of several pro and amateur photographers and friends and launched a new career.
They say the devil is in the details, so the name JJ’s Details Photography came about quite naturally.
To the underwater and wildlife scenes, JJ added a striking collection of landscape imagery and he started to turn his lenses from the wilderness into some closer furred and feathered friends.
A few years ago he reluctantly (at first) started making images following a few friends’ pregnancies and their babies and a new and unexpected love was born.
And over this last year JJ realised that he was in a unique position to share his knowledge and he was able to teach others how to create images good enough to hang on their walls. So he started to deliver quite successful workshops to a growing group of eager and fun loving people.
Here you can see several types of professionally produced images. Some are best sellers, others are just a show of JJ’s unusual way of looking at things, animals and people and how he tells their story.
